There is no question this is a big day, but the challenge is all part of the fun. The goal is to find your grit, and apply it when needed. We will provide fuel (cake), guidance, skills, and fabulous views.

Although it's a training day, the goal isn't to leave anyone behind. It is to support and learn what it takes to manage a ride with long miles, technical climbs, and descents. Everyone has their own pace, and the goal will be to accommodate each while still gelling as a group.

Expect slippy grass, loose rocks, and steep climbs. Line choice is all part of the fun.

About the Ride

Rides are between 4-5 hours long, may include any of the following…

  • Small group size of 6
  • Pre and post ride bike checks, what to look for on big days out
  • Fuelling for your ride, what to eat/drink and when
  • 2 climbs that will test your endurance
  • 2 fast descents
  • 1 technical climb and descent
  • Roaring laughter
  • Support and camaraderie
  • and so much more….

Meet your host

I'm Beth and big mountains rides are my thing. Technical climbs and descents and a massive love for wide open spaces... come find out why.

We will meet at the Blaen-y-Cwm Carpark near Grwyne Fawr Reservoir at 10am to ride by 10:30.  Here will do a thorough bike check and answer questions about the ride.

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water as there is no where to stop for snacks once we start riding.

There will definitely be flapjacks… and maybe cake if time allows for my baking hat to get on before the ride.
