You spoke and we listened.  This a new lighter version of our intro to big  mountain rides. Are you working on your fitness? Recovering from injury...? This ride will take it slow and kindly into our favourite place, the Black Mountains.

The ride will have road and gentle mountain climbs to insure you are warmed up.  Only a small amount of this terrain will be technical, and you take it at your own pace and break when you need to.  Once the work is put in, the descents are swooping and as fast as you want them.  There will be a few rocks, and few grassy lumps, and views that take your breath away.  If you have ridden the blue at the Forest of Dean, you can handle our intro mountain ride.

About the Ride

Rides are between 3-4 hours long, and include the following.

  • Small groups of 6 to get the most out of the day
  • 30 min trailside repair demo (tyre repair, brake pads, etc)
  • Kit list needed and why
  • Pre-ride bike check with Q&A
  • Support and guidance to read and tackle new terrain
  • Long swooping descent
  • Roaring laughter
  • Post ride bike check and cold/hot drink
  • and so much more….

Meet your host

I'm Beth and if it wasn't for the women who took me on my first rides I would not be loving what I do now. The mountains are my happy place... come find out why.

We will meet in Bwlch, 3/4 of the way up the mountain at 10am to ride by 10:30.  Here will do a thorough bike check and answer questions about the ride.

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water as there is no where to stop for snacks once we start riding.

There will definitely be flapjacks… and maybe cake if time allows for my baking hat to get on before the ride.
